When a trailer, camper or caravan weighs over 750kg, in most cases this will require the installation of electric brakes. These are fitted to the trailer, caravan or camper and must be controlled by an electric brake controller in the vehicle towing it. In a lot of cases, people will purchase a new van or trailer and find it has electric brakes and realise that to tow that unit, they require an electric brake controller in their car. At Bolands, we can assist with the installation of electric brakes and also the electric brake controller.
We recommend and supply the Redarc Tow Pro or Tow Pro Elite. We fit the unit to meet all regulations stipulated for your insurance requirements and Australian Design Standards. All units are fitted with heavy duty wiring to the rear of the vehicle through to your trailer base with a 30 amp circuit breaker. We will not fit our units any other way for safety reasons.
